Cookie Policy

DealScroll does not currently use visitor analytics, advertising or marketing tracking technologies. We do not run Google Analytics, tag managers, advertising pixels, retargeting scripts or third-party behavioural profiling. The technologies described below are limited to keeping you signed in, remembering your settings, and delivering and securing the site.

Because we set nothing beyond that, there are no analytics or marketing switches to manage: there is currently nothing of that kind to opt out of.

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Similar technologies do the same job in a different place: local storage keeps data in your browser until it is cleared, session storage clears when you close the tab, and service workers run in the background to deliver push notifications. This policy covers all of them.

When you sign in, your authentication session is stored in your browser’s local storage by our authentication provider so you stay signed in between visits and page loads. Clearing it signs you out. This is strictly necessary to provide the signed-in service and cannot be switched off while you are logged in.

We store settings locally in your browser so the app behaves the way you left it, including your light, dark or system theme choice and small interface preferences such as dismissed prompts. These are functional rather than strictly necessary, and clearing them simply returns the app to its defaults.

Our hosting platform sets a cookie named __dpl when you load the site. Its purpose is to route your requests to the correct deployment of the application. It carries no analytics or advertising function and contains no profile of you. We describe it as operational because it supports correct delivery of the site rather than any feature you have chosen.

Our hosting platform also serves a small script from our own domain as part of its editing and deployment tooling. We have verified on the live site that it does not transmit visitor analytics events and does not write to cookies, local storage or session storage during normal browsing. Platform-level visitor analytics is disabled for DealScroll, and enabling it in future would require a further privacy review and an update to this policy first.

If you choose to enable push notifications, a service worker is registered in your browser and a push subscription is stored against your account so we can deliver the alerts you asked for. This only happens after you grant permission, and you can revoke it in your browser or device settings, or by turning notifications off in the app.

Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. That request goes to Google’s servers and exposes your IP address and browser information to them; it does not set advertising cookies on our site. No other third-party resource is loaded on our public pages.

When you click through to a retailer, that retailer and any affiliate network in the link may set their own cookies or identifiers to attribute the visit. Those technologies are outside our control and are governed by their own cookie and privacy policies. Deals using an affiliate or tracked link carry an #ad badge — see our affiliate disclosure.

• Clear cookies and site data for dealscroll.co.uk in your browser settings. This removes your saved theme and preferences and signs you out.
• Block or limit cookies and site storage in your browser. The signed-in app will not work correctly without session storage.
• Use private or incognito browsing so storage is discarded when you close the window.
• Revoke notification permission for dealscroll.co.uk in your browser or device settings.

Because we set no analytics, advertising or marketing technologies, there is nothing of that kind to opt out of. If that changes, we will complete a privacy review and update this policy before any such technology goes live.
